How do I rid Gnat Problem?

it all depends on the gnat type as to how to stop them, but no matter what species they are the source needs to be addressed or else you are just killing the adults that will continue to show up, not really stopping the problem...the most common ones I get calls on are the tiny fungus gnats coming from the soil of potted plants, treatment can be anything from re potting the plant in clean soil , to watering the plant with an insecticide solution...I would be wary with home made insecticides made from soaps and detergents, these are phytotoxic to most plants, and easy to make to0 strong a solution to use on the plants
